Why did we build it?
User Problems
- Context context context: numbers mean nothing out of context - by looking at reports relative to a goal, or the average over time, users can derive far more meaningful insights.
- Goal setting: Gem dashboards are often used for sourcer (outreach activity), recruiter (stage activity), and even business (interviews) accountability and attainment reporting. Allowing users to set and track goals directly in Gem closes a natural last piece of the puzzle.
Gem Problems
- Customer request: this has been a long-time ask from multiple reporting customers, but most recently from DoorDash (Ashby head-to-head).
- Consolidation: Tracking goals and overall adherence directly in Gem allows more of this workflow to be captured in Gem, without needing to move to another tool to manually do this.
Personas+ Use Cases
- Sourcer / manager — track outreach goals, i.e. # of first messages sent to candidates MoM
- Recruiter / manager — review team averages for performance, i.e. # of RPSs conducted WoW
- TA leader — set informed quarterly goals for all talent teams

How does the product work?
Add an average trend line and/or a goal line in the Visualization tab for eligible metrics + configurations.
Eligible metrics + configurations
- Must be a historical / time-based metric (it’s historical if you see rollup interval option)
- Only supported for bar charts and line charts

Limitations/Gotchas
- Average is NOT supported for non-count metrics:
- rate metrics (i.e. interested rate, PTR)
- averaged time metrics (TIS, time to complete scorecard)
- Reminder Jobs/Job Openings are NOT a historical metric (task)
- Reminder that not all metrics are supported for every ATS
- Median trend has been deprecated for PA metrics (task), so it’s not a trend option
