Eligibility
All Talent Compass customers will have access. All dashboard-supported ATSs are eligible.
Why did we build it?
We believe more users aren’t using Gem dashboards because of the high activation energy required to create & configure dashboards to distill relevant insights. This hurdle prolongs their expected time-to-value past a tolerable range.
If we create dashboard templates for key use cases, we will make it easier for users to create the right widgets & dashboards to derive relevant insights, which we will measure as an increase in # of unique dashboards created. Reduced time-to-value → increased customer value, satisfaction, and eventually, Gem stickiness.
User problems:
- There’s a learning curve to using Gem dashboards and the “right” data is hard to find.
- Less analytics-savvy users aren’t as comfortable self-serving Gem data.
- There’s no scalable way to enforce company-specific standardization of dashboards.
Gem opportunities:
- To maximize the current value of Gem dashboards today, Gem customer support teams waste valuable time and resources creating the same set of dashboards for all Gem customers.
- Winning more Enterprise deals (SI1) relies on garnering favor among talent executives and rec ops folks in particular.

Functional Details
How does the product work?
Create a “New Dashboard” in the upper right corner. This template library will replace the previous “create dashboard” flow (that had the option to include the default set of widgets).
There is no change to the dashboard detail configuration modal.

COPY MAY NOT BE UP TO DATE
There are 7 total templates, as part of the MVP, with the option to also start from scratch:
- Executive summary
- Interview health
- Pipeline composition
- Recruiting health
- Recruiting team productivity
- Outreach health
- Sourcing team productivity

Limitations/Gotchas?
- Template coverage will vary by customer, specific to which ATS they’re on, that is consistent with metrics supportability today in Gem generally
- Ex: Jobs/interview metrics are not supported for Lever customers yet, therefore they won’t see the “Interview Health” template
- Ex: “Started” stage specific widgets may be hidden
- Ex: Current pipeline widget not available for non-GH customers at this time
- Generally, if there’s a perceived “missing widget or template” for a customer, it’s likely not a bug and more that we just haven’t been able to get to parity across ATSs yet. Stay tuned - we’re working as quickly as possible
Future State
- Persona-specific (manager vs. IC) templates for recruiting/sourcing productivity
- Additional use case templates (help us source ideas based on customer feedback)
- Team / custom templates: e.g. rec ops can create a standard template for recruiter productivity that all recruiters can clone for their own use
- Template library usability improvements (search, filtering, etc.)
