Gem ATS allows you to create reusable scorecard templates that can be applied across multiple jobs, streamlining your evaluation process and ensuring consistency in candidate assessments. Instead of configuring a scorecard for each job individually, you can set up standardized templates for related positions, saving time and effort.

Requirements

Only Gem admins can create or modify scorecard templates. See Getting Started - Gem ATS Permissions for more information on roles in Gem.

Creating scorecard templates

To create a scorecard template:

  • Navigate to the Interviews & scheduling tab of the Templates page, go to the Scorecards section and select + New scorecard template.

  • In the popup that appears, name your template in the field in the top-left corner (we recommend assigning a clear, descriptive name so the template is easy to locate later).

Note: Every template must include (and includes by default):

  • Overall recommendation: This uses your team’s configured scoring system.
  • Overall feedback: This allows interviewers to provide written feedback and impressions of the candidate.

Adding questions to the scorecard

You can add additional questions to tailor the scorecard to your team’s evaluation criteria.

To add a question:

  • Select Add question at the bottom of the question list.
  • Select a question type (Short answer, Long answer, Single-select, or Multi-select).
  • Enter the question text in the provided field, and optionally, a description to provide interviewers with additional guidance.

  • If the question requires a single-select or multi-select answer, select Add option to enter the answer options. You can drag-and-drop options to reorder them, or select the x icon to remove an option.
image
  • If the question is mandatory, check the Required box (if left unchecked, the question will be visible but optional for interviewers).
  • Select Publish changes at the top of the page to save the new template and make it available for interviews.

To modify an existing scorecard template, simply select it from the list on your Scorecard page and make your changes.
