Summary

Users can now create personal folders to organize & view their Gem items (projects, sequences, dashboards, reports).

Eligibility

This feature is available to all Gem CRM customers.

Why did we build it?

Customers previously had mental groupings around Gem items and need to remember them - for ex. projects, a dashboard, and a report to review the Engineering Hire Pipeline they’re managing. Gem Folders help them to have this organization easily visible within Gem.

Personas+ Use Cases

• Heavy users of reports, dashboards to group their items together for easy access
• TA teams needing to collect disparate Gem items into a grouping for a priority role (e.g. Engineering Hire Pipeline)
• And many more!

Functional Details

How does the product work?

• Enabling Folders - can be done as a Home ‘widget’ [screenshot]
• Objects you can add to a Folder (head to each of these module areas to complete the ‘add’ action)
• Open an individual project > Options > Add to folder
• Open an individual sequence > More Options > Add to folder
• Open up an individual Dashboard > Actions > Add to folder
• Open up an individual Report > Report Options > Add to folder
• Projects

• Share Folder via ‘Copy link’ to another team member

Limitations/Gotchas?

• Currently you can only create “Personal” Folders and cannot make your Folders show up on others’ Gem Home.
• But you can ‘share the link’ to the Folder to another Gem user, and they’ll have access to the list of items!

Future State

• We don’t have immediate plans for v2 at the moment but, are keeping the following themes top of mind:
• Sharing Folders w/ other members of my team (v1 only allows ‘Personal’ folders)
• Additional items can be added to Folders (Campaigns, Forms, Pages, Saved searches)
• Improved discoverability (user has to add ‘Folders’ as a Home section, which is quite hidden today)
