Search for pre-existing candidates by LinkedIn URL, email, and name
When viewing a person, we check if they already exist in Avature, first looking them up via LinkedIn URL, then primary email, and finally name. We currently only render a link to their profile if we find a match, and we only show the first match. Potential future work here could include showing multiple results, and showing more information on each result, without requiring people to click through to Avature. Additionally, even if we find a pre-existing candidate, we still include a link to show the candidate upload form in case it isn’t actually the same person.
Upload candidates to Avature
This is the form we show to allow people to upload candidates to Avature. The jobs typeahead currently shows the first 100 open jobs on Avature that are tagged with the logged-in user’s personal tag. The personal tag restriction is mainly due to Epic having >100k open jobs in their system, and needing a way to filter that down to a reasonable number. If that is resolved for them, or other customers don’t have that same issue, we can look into disabling the personal tag filter for them, which should be simple.
Again this form is fairly barebones, and there is lots of additional features that could be built here in the future, like adding more fields to set other Avature properties that certain customers might have a particular need for.
Link to uploaded candidates
If the user has uploaded a candidate to Avature via Gem, we will keep track of the uploaded candidate’s Avature ID, and show a link with slightly different language from the case where we just found a candidate via a LinkedIn URL/email/name match. Additionally, we don’t let people re-upload candidates to Avature in this case. Again, this could be improved by actually loading information about this candidate and showing it in our extension.
Check if user is logged out of Avature
If a user is logged out of Avature, we show a helpful link letting them know they should login so they can use our integration.
