Overview

With this iMocha integration, you can incorporate iMocha test stages to your job interview plans in Gem ATS, allowing you to use it as an assessment tool for candidates during the interview process.

Eligibility

Your team needs to have:

  • Gem as your ATS
  • iMocha

How to set up the integration

To enable the iMocha integration, you will need to be an administrator on your Gem team.

  1. Log in to your iMocha account and navigate to your Integrations page. On the top right of this page, you should see your iMocha API Key. Click the Copy button to copy that key to your clipboard.
  2. Navigate to your ATS Integrations settings page within your Gem account.
  3. Click on the module for iMocha to expand it, and paste the API key you had copied from your iMocha account page into the API key field in Gem. Click Save & close.

How to use the integration

You can now add a iMocha test stage to any interview plan. Select an interview plan from your Gem ATS Jobs page, or create a new interview plan. From within the interview plan, click the arrow next to ‘Add a new stage’ and select iMocha assessment.

The new stage will now populate in your interview plan. Select a test for that stage, designating which of the assessments you have created in iMocha should be used for this interview.

Scheduling

When a candidate has advanced to a iMocha enabled assessment stage in your interview plan, their status in your Scheduling Queue will change to ‘Assessment needs sending’. You should open their application and click the ‘Send assessment’ button.

You will receive a pop-up where you can confirm the iMocha test that is being sent to the candidate. Confirm the test to automatically send the test link to the candidate. Gem will also display the iMocha test link that has been sent to the candidate in case you need to send it to them through another form of messaging.

Once the candidate has completed the assessment, their status will change to ‘Assessment needs Review’ and the candidate’s test score will be displayed on their application within Gem ATS. There will also be a link to the iMocha test results so you can do a more detailed review of their assessment performance before you make a decision on whether to advance the candidate to the next stage or not.

Current limitations

  • If you are planning on using the same tests for multiple jobs, you will not be able to send a candidate the same test link if they apply for more than one of those jobs. You will need to generate a new test link for them. Gem cannot link one iMocha test to multiple applications from the same candidate.
    • You can also review your iMocha account to find the test invitation associated with the first job the candidate applied for and use the score from that test to make a hiring decision on the new application.
    • If you create a new link to the existing test so the candidate can take it again, remember that they have now seen this test already and you should expect them to improve their performance the second time.
  • If the test is either cancelled in iMocha or expired (i.e. the candidate did not complete the test in time), the iMocha integration does not notify Gem of the status update. We are also unable to query for this information from iMocha. You can check within your iMocha account to see if the test has expired.
  • This integration does not currently support sending a test re-attempt or cancelling a test invitation.
