Overview
The pay transparency feature within Gem ATS will allow you to add the pay range to any job post including custom template language.
Eligibility
Your team needs to have:
- Gem as your ATS
- You must have a base pay range set in your job settings within the Compensation section under Job details.
How to enabled pay transparency
To enable the pay transparency feature, you will need to be an administrator on your Gem team.
- Navigate to the Compensation settings page within your Gem account.
- Click on the Pay transparency module to expand it, and then click the slider to enable pay transparency.Note : Enabling pay transparency will only impact new job postings. The option to Display compensation section as a job post default will not impact existing job posts.
- For job postings that existed prior to your activating the pay transparency feature, pay transparency can be enabled within the job posts section by editing your existing job posts.
Configuring your pay transparency settings
Similar to the default intro and outro content you can set within your Job boards & posts settings, you can craft custom language to use as part of your pay transparency content within your job postings. If you choose not to include custom content, Gem will still pull the base pay range from your job details and display the following text in your job posting:
The base pay range for this role is $XX,XXX – $XXX,XXX per year.
You can also choose to display a partial range. Enabling this option will allow you to adjust either or both ends of the pay range, with 0% - 100% displaying the full range. This would be useful for job postings where you may want to publicly post a limited range, leaving your team with some discretionary range beyond the job posting to offer to exceptional candidates.
Once you have enabled pay transparency and saved your changes, the Compensation section will be available on all job posts. If you have enabled it to display by default, or enable it on individual jobs, the resulting text that will be included in your job posting will appear in your job details, including any custom language you have created.
The compensation section can be disabled for any individual job post even if it is enabled by default for your team. Clicking the Compensation slider in the job post itself will remove the compensation section from the posting.
