Email permissions within Gem (Microsoft Outlook 365)

With full permission access levels, Gem has read, send, and delete access to your inbox:

• Gem needs send access because it sends email as you from your Outlook inbox when using our Sequences overview. Emails that you’ve sent through Gem Sequences will appear under your Sent Mail folder.
• Gem needs read access to your inbox so it can detect when a candidate has replied to your Sequence and stop further automated follow-ups from being sent to them.
• Gem needs delete access because the read-write permission on Microsoft’s Graph API includes delete access. We do not delete emails, but need this permission to perform other writes.

Users can opt out of granting email access, but doing so will block your ability to certain Gem features, such as sending Sequences or allowing others to Sending email on behalf of (SOBO).
