Overview
This feature allows Gem Admins to create a “Do Not Contact” list of company names for their team. If a team member attempts to contact a candidate that has previously and/or currently works for a company on the list, a soft warning will appear. This feature does not stop you from contacting candidates on the list, but notifies you when their company is on it.
Requirements
- Admin access to your Gem account.
- Do Not Contact list must be enabled for your account. To gain access, contact our Sales team (sales@gem.com) or your Gem Customer Success Manager.
Set up a Do Not Contact list
Note: Only Admins can set up a Do Not Contact list.
- Select your account at the bottom of the main sidebar, then select the Admin settings option in the dropdown.
- Select the Outreach header.
- Select the Do not contact list option in the left navigation menu.
- Select the Create do not contact entry button.
- Enter the name of the company you’d like to add into the search bar. Gem will list all relevant company names from the Gem database as suggestions once you begin typing. You can also manually add a custom name if it is not listed.
- In the Apply warnings to dropdown, select one of the following options to choose who to apply warnings to:
- Both past and present employees of this company.
- Only current employees of this company.
- Optionally add a note with relevant context. This information won’t be visible to team members, only to other Admins.
How it works
When a candidate’s company is on your team’s Do Not Contact list, yellow warning banners are displayed in the following places in Gem.
- When viewing the candidate’s profile in the Gem sidebar or extension.
- When creating a draft of a sequence that contains the candidate as a recipient, including when sending a sequence directly from the Gem extension.
- When reviewing the recipients list, prior to sending out a sequence.
- When sending the candidate a one-off message.
