This can happen even with customers who say they are not using any extension other than Gem, or that they only received the warning after they started using Gem.
As far as we can tell, this does not indicate that Gem itself is actually violating LinkedIn’s terms of service, and we have not received any official notification from LinkedIn that they consider the Gem extension to be in violation of their terms of service.

We have developed the Gem Chrome extension to comply with LinkedIn’s terms of service. When we have heard reports of this warning being sent to Gem users in the past, it has been because of a separate extension that they also have running at the same time as the Gem extension, or the way they are using LinkedIn is being flagged as potentially automated. For example, creating a LinkedIn search and then opening too many tabs containing candidate profiles in quick succession.
