The YC Work at a Startup integration is live.
Setup steps
- In Gem, click your avatar in the bottom left. Then click Admin Settings.
- Within Admin Settings, click on the Integration tab, and then Third Party Applications.
- Click Add Integration on the top right of the table.
- Click Select Application.
- Click YCombinator (Work at a Startup).
- Click Add Integration.
- Copy the shareable access key to your clipboard.
- Navigate to your YCombinator Work at a Startup account.
- Hover on Settings in the top right. Click Integrations.
- In the table, locate Gem and click Connect.
- Under API key, paste the shareable access key from your clipboard.
- Select a Default User who is a Gem admin. It may take several seconds for the list of users to appear.
- Click Save.
- A section titled “Link Jobs to ATS” will appear. You can map the jobs you’ve created in YC WaaS to those in Gem. You’ll want to map these to the Application Review stage in Gem. * When candidates apply via YC WaaS, they’ll automatically appear in the Application Review stage in Gem.
That’s it! You’re all set up.
Other ways you can use Gem + YC Work at a Startup
- If you’re browsing prospects on YC WaaS (who haven’t applied directly to a role), you can message them on the YC platform. If they reply as interested, you can export them as candidates to the recruiter screen stage (or whatever equivalent stage you have after the Application Review) for a specific job.
- If you’re browsing prospects on WaaS and want to sequence them through Gem (instead of using YC’s messaging tool), you can use the Gem Chrome extension to add them to a project. That project can be attached to a sequence, which can be attached to a job. If the candidate replies as interested, they’ll automatically appear in the job pipeline in Gem.
