Overview
Recruiting teams often have a large database of past applicants and sourced candidates, but manually searching through them for a new role is time-consuming. Gem AI Rediscovery solves this by bringing these “warm” prospects directly into your AI Sourcing workflow.
AI Rediscovery efficiently surfaces the best-fit talent from your existing Gem CRM and integrated ATS candidates. Gem AI analyzes past applications, sourcing activity, and engagement history to intelligently rank candidates.
This allows you to see all potential candidates—net-new prospects, CRM prospects, and past applicants—in a single, unified search result, ensuring you’re finding the most qualified talent available all within your Gem AI Sourcing search.
Getting Started with Gem AI Rediscovery
When you create a new AI Sourcing search, the system automatically includes your past talent pools. There are no extra steps required to get started.
When you kick off a search, Gem AI Sourcing will consider talent from three distinct pools:
- Gem CRM prospects: Prospects who have been previously added to Gem or sequenced from Gem.
- Past applicants: Candidates from your ATS who have applied to your company in the past. Candidates who are both a past applicant and have been sourced previously will be categorized under “Past applicants.”
- “Past applicants” is available for teams with an ATS with Deep Integration, or with Gem ATS
- Net-new prospects: Profiles your team has never engaged with before.
Reviewing Results
Unified & Categorized Search Results
Gem AI Sourcing will show you profiles your company has never engaged with before (Net-new) as well as profiles who have engaged with your company (Past applicants, CRM prospects) and the search results will be in 4 tabs:
- All
- Past applicants
- Gem CRM prospects
- Net-new prospects
Result Orders by Match Scores
- AI Match Scores will be made up of:
- Skill fit: The primary factor driving the order of your search results is a profile’s score based on their fit to an AI Criteria, regardless of their source (Past applicant, CRM prospect, or Net-new).
- Profile Warmness: For profiles which have a past history with your company (Past applicants and CRM prospects), we use their profile warmness as a secondary sorting factor.
Highlighting Past Context
Gem AI makes it easy to understand the full context of a profile’s history with your company:
- For past applicants, Gem AI will show in the main profile view, under the Gem AI profile summary, the past interview scorecards (Scorecards tab) as well as any previous or current applications the candidate has with your company (Applicants tab).
- On the left-rail list view of profile results, there are notes of past engagement such as “In process 5 years ago” or “Contacted 3 years ago,” to easily identify candidates with past ATS or CRM activity.

What is “profile warmness” and how is it determined?
Profile warmness is a secondary scoring factor used for past applicants and Gem CRM prospects. It is determined by a combination of past activity, such as:
- For past applicants: How far they made it in a previous interview stage for a similar application, and any notes or scorecard representations from that time.
- For Gem CRM prospects: Whether they engaged with past sourcing activity or if they have been sourced or added to a project in the past.
