Disabling the Gem Chrome extension in Gmail

This article covers the steps you need to take to disable the Gem Chrome Extension within Gmail.

You can disable the Gem Chrome Extension within Gmail by navigating to your **Settings** within Gem and unselecting the option to ‘Auto open the extension sidebar in Gmail threads with Gem candidates’.

Even with the sidebar auto open in Gmail disabled, you can still choose to manually open or close the sidebar when you are viewing an email thread with a person sourced via Gem. Just click the Gem logo in the Chrome toolbar, to the right of the address bar.
