Overview
This guide walks you through authorizing Gem to access your Greenhouse account using OAuth 2.0 (Harvest v3). After this is set up, your team members can use Gem’s integration with Greenhouse to sync data and connect your sourcing workflow to your ATS.
This sits alongside your existing Greenhouse Harvest API key — your API key will continue to power v1/v2 endpoints until your team is fully migrated.

Requirements
- You must be a Gem admin user.
- You must be a Greenhouse user with the Site Admin role.
Set up OAuth authorization
Follow these steps to set up OAuth authorization for your Greenhouse integration with Gem.
- Sign in to Gem with your Gem admin user account.
- Select your account at the bottom of the main sidebar, then select the Admin settings option in the dropdown.
- Select the Greenhouse header.
- Scroll down to the Greenhouse Harvest OAuth (Harvest v3) section (directly below Greenhouse Harvest API Key).
- Select the Authorize with Greenhouse button. This opens a new pop-up showing the scopes Gem is requesting.
- At the bottom of this pop-up, select the Log in to Greenhouse button and sign in with your Greenhouse user details.
Note that you must have the Site Admin role on your Greenhouse account to authorize the integration.
- Greenhouse will prompt you to create a service account (ISU) for this authorization. Select the check box for this option.
Using a dedicated service account keeps the integration stable if the authorizing user subsequently leaves the organization or changes roles.
- Select the Authorize button. You’ll see a confirmation message in Greenhouse, then be redirected back to Gem.
- Back in Gem, the Greenhouse Harvest OAuth (Harvest v3) section now shows as Authorized.
- You’re now connected, and can start making use of Gem’s integration with Greenhouse.
